Typical signs of poor blood circulation
Signes typiques d'une mauvaise circulation sanguine

When you sit all day or cross your legs, there will be a phenomenon of dilation of the veins, which can create a sensation of swelling and tingling in your lower limbs (for example, legs, ankles and feet) or even give the sensation of abnormally cold feet. This means that you then suffer from poor blood circulation. But other symptoms may also appear, such as painful varicose veins (veins), a bluish discoloration of the skin in certain places. This is a sign that the blood pressure is not being released properly.

We often overlook the symptoms of poor blood circulation, and without treatment, this can lead to chronic diseases that can have a negative impact on the brain (stroke) as well as on the renal system. No one is immune, but some people are more at risk than others. The most common causes are smoking, high blood pressure, physical inactivity, poor nutrition and being overweight, which contribute to the development of poor blood circulation. Even pregnant women are also more likely to suffer from this disease.

When blood stagnated, the veins dilate, carrying oxygen-depleted, bluish-tinged blood. It is the movements that will allow the blood to circulate well to the feet. For this it is necessary to get up every hour and take at least 10 steps and the venous pump is activated.

During my consultations I always advise to adopt a good working posture such as raising your screen to have your eyes in the middle, having a straight back and head, having your legs straight and your feet flat on the floor (a footrest can help you keep a good posture).

But also to do small muscle exercises while sitting or breathing exercises (such as stretching, yoga...) to stimulate the diaphragm and stretch the spine. Without forgetting to hydrate well throughout the day (drink between 1.5 and 2L of water per day).

In any case, do not hesitate to consult a doctor if you experience one or more of these symptoms to be sure, because an ultrasound scan is essential to establish an accurate diagnosis". Also ask if pressure therapy sessions may be necessary to help you.

On the tea side, our massage therapist also offers rosemary tea, which effectively stimulates the circulation. It can be enjoyed as a tea or used as a bath additive....
